Dreams of the Ghost Wood
In the dark places I wait and am reborn.
This Toad charm (approx 6.3cm long) is crafted from strong air-drying paper clay, I use water collected from a local sacred spring to moisten and work the clay. Hidden deep within her belly are dried plants and berries sacred to Saturn and the Moon and a toad bone from a long dead toad I found whilst helping someone in their garden. Yew leaves & wood, Ivy berries, willow leaves and seeds and henbane flowers, plants alive with Underworld magics and transformations. All the plants have all been carefully and ritually collected by me from around the area I live. She is painted to give a faux ancient bronze effect and she is finished with a matt-satin varnish.
This Toad charm has sat beneath the dark moon but has not been otherwise consecrated or charged beyond what I put into every piece I craft. I prefer to leave such things to whoever the piece goes to so that it is personal to them and their needs.
The clay is extremely light weight and very strong but please be aware this is air drying not fired clay so please do not let her get over wet or immerse her in water.
Any animal parts I use in my creations are 100% ethically sourced. They have been found by me during my walks and wanderings all are treated with great honour, respect and thanks.
